Come and be entertained by Steve Brosky – subject of the play, “Living Here in Allentown”, and 1983 recipient of the keys to the city.  The bard of Allentown will tell in song and story about growing up in the 6th ward, shipping off to Vietnam and 40 years of life as a saloon singer.  Don’t miss this experience of living history!

Moving Traditions of the Pennsylvania Germans

Bob Roeder, Editor of the Town and Country, will present the program.  Hear about their traditions, superstitions, and how they moved out of their old home and into the new one.

Cider Making and History of Bauman’s Cider

History of apple cider and the story of the Bauman Family Apple Butter business in Sassamansville.  Sample Bauman’s cider and fruit butters.

Harvest Home Celebration – The original PA German Thanksgiving
Bob Gerhart – From long before President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed the last Thursday in November as a National Day of Thanksgiving in 1863, PA Germans throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania had expressed their gratitude to God for another year of harvests to sustain their families and communities. The Day of Harvest Home Service was a highlight of the fall season in PA Dutch communities.
